History

Born and raised in the Westeros system, Jon grew up as a bastard son of Eddard Stark. His grandfather Aerys Targaryen had been a mad king and used his Jedi abilities to rule over the people in the Westeros system, making them bow to him but also killing them should they serve no purpose or because in the end he truly had gone mad and no reason was needed. What he didn’t know for a long time was that his father had been a Targaryen and that he’d inherited the Force-sensitivity of his father’s side of the family.

After Aerys was defeated, Robert Baratheon took over ruling the seven planets in Westeros and both outlawed Jedi but also instilled fear in the kingdom against anyone that might be Force-sensitive. Eddard Stark knew Jon’s true parentage and claimed him in order to keep him safe, hoping that he would grow up to take on the normal skills the Starks had, and not the Force-sensitivity of his Targaryen blood.

On a trip to the colder regions of his planet, Winterfell, he met and adopted a Loth-wolf named Ghost and the two grew close together. The how’s and why’s of Ghost’s being on the planet even Ghost wouldn’t share, though something begged at the edges of Jon’s mind that some how a smuggler had gotten him off Lothal and ended up dumping him when he’d found no one would purchase the wolf. The two have been fairly inseparable since, though Catelyn has hated having the Loth-wolf in the keep with him.

As Jon’s Force-sensitivity grew to be too much to hide, he took off toward the Outer Rim of Westeros and an asteroid belt known to the people as The Wall with Ghost. Eddard had stopped him briefly, telling him about his parents before he left, leaving him in more turmoil than he’d been in before he’d decided to leave. That he’d been born Aegon Targaryen, rightful heir to the seven planets of Westeros, that his grandfather had gone mad and that his blood had led mostly to dark side practitioners. His original plan had been to hide himself in the Night’s Watch, a band of men who protected Westeros from outside threats, but something in the Force pulled him to do a hyperspace jump past the wall into space. He’d had no idea why he did it, or what had pulled him to, but he rarely questioned his instincts, stupid as they were according to Ghost.

After nearly running out of fuel, he was saved by Jane, a girl that he’d seen in his dreams but had never dared believe might be real. Becoming fast friends, she was the only person at the academy that he really talked to or ever smiled around. He hadn’t meant to get between Jane and her brother, Ben, but he couldn’t help the bond between them that had been formed since before they’d met and had only strengthened with their time together.

On the night of the temple massacre, Jon received a warning from the Force of the tragedy that was about to unfold, but Jane insisted on going back to help Ben, believing she could subdue him and turn him back. Ben, however, turned on her too, and she would’ve died if Jon hadn’t taken the killing blow that had been meant for her.

With Jon dying and the temple burning around them, he’d tried to get her to leave and save herself. But stubborn as she was, she used her powers in an attempt to heal him, and while it worked she collapsed from the effort. Because of his Targaryen blood, he found himself immune to the fire and because of her healing was able to drag them both out of the fire and off to the Outer Rim with Ghost.

Fearing for each other’s life and safety, they decided to make a run for it, letting the galaxy continue to believe that they’d died along with the rest of the Jedi. They changed their names and took on new identities; Jon became Aegon, Jane Caedus, and for an added layer of protection, they adopted Targaryen as their last name, using the name’s ill reputation as some form of shield. They started to work as bounty hunters, both to quickly earn credits and to stay close to information, and in the course of their jobs they managed to track down the Falcon and buy it from junk boss Unkar Plutt of Jakku. They came to be known as the Targaryen Twins, a moniker that would later cause a stir in Westeros, as the Targaryens had supposedly been wiped out after the reign of the Sith lord known as the Mad King.
